ABOUT


Harrison Kirk, a graduate of California State University Northridge and California Institute of the Arts, is a freelance trombonist, arranger, and instructor in the Los Angeles area. He writes and performs a variety of music andstyles including, but not limited to Jazz, Salsa, Classical, Pop, and Funk. Recent performances include the 2011 International Clarinet Fest orchestra, the Madrid Theater production of Ragtime, music scored and conducted by Garry Schyman, and a concert featuring Marvin Hamlisch and Betty Buckley.
Harrison has arranged and composed music for several southern California show choirs including Burbank High School and Hart High School. He has also done arrangements for Louie Cruz Beltran, Joe Labarbera, Darek Oles, Matt Harris, and jazz guitarist Larry Koonse. He was also a copyist for the 2008 Buddy Rich tribute concert in New York featuring Chad Smith, Neil Pert, Terry Bozzio, Nick Rich, and Peter Erskine with bassists, Will Lee and Jeff Berlin.
Harrison is currently the music director at Santa Clarita Valley International charter school and is working to develop a K-12 music program that will encourage young people and bring more art and music to the Santa Clarita Valley. Harrison has served as a private music instructor for many years and has taught and administered workshops at Hillsdale Middle School, Calahan Elementary, Highland Hall Waldorf School, Burbank High School, and Coronado High School.
